Every day life can be packed to the brim with stress educing deadlines targets and plain and simple overwork, as companies downsize and expecting everybody to magically take on the work of two without so much of a blink of the eye

Yoga - Relaxation & Exercise Rolled Into One

There are many forms of well respected what I would call holistic forms of exercise around for example Pilates or Tai Chi but perhaps one of the most popular is of course Yoga.

If you want to learn about yoga, the best thing to do is to take a class in it.  Most yoga classes teach what is known as Hatha yoga.  This refers to any type of yoga that involves physical exercise as its primary activity, whether it is Vinyasa yoga, Bikram yoga, or some other form.

They are all said and done very similar, but you might have to try out a few before you find one that works for you best. Your teacher should be someone who is serious about yoga study, and has studied the other forms including meditation.

Quite often you’ll be able to find a suitable Yoga class available close to your place of employment and a good after work session is and ideal way to both exercise and relax and wind down after a stressful day.

When Exercise Is Not Exercise

Some parts of society are hell bent on getting the perfect body and why not if it looks good, but the very technology that is forcing us to take less exercise in the first place soon creeps into our exercise regime, and lets face who doesn’t want to get fit the easy way…..without exercise!!

Nowhere is this trend more apparent to even the most casual look than in the realm of abs equipment. Exercise equipment has always been a place that was gadget prone, but much of it has always made sense. Lifting machines are safer than free weights for example but aren’t these abs development gizmos going a bit to far?

What happened to doing good old-fashioned crunches for tightening up the stomach muscles. Whatever they tell you, you really just simply do not need all of that abs equipment when you can do the job just as
well on your own.

Don’t be lazy and get some aerobic benefit from your exercise as well by doing it the good old fashioned (and cheap) way.

Walk Your Self Fit

With an ever increasing buzz about dieting and losing weight in today’s society it seems that many have forgotten about the real basics of being healthy and that of course is a little bit of additional exercise in your daily routine

Sadly we live in a society based on convenience.  No one wants to exercise anymore.  A perfect example of this theory can be seen at your local shopping mall or grocery store.  When you creep through the parking lot, watch every car try and get that space closest to the entrance.

Even if it’s a gorgeous day and there are spaces galore toward the back.  People would rather wait for that car that’s about to back out, and then snag that closer space.  Don’t they know that walking for exercise is ideal.

So start getting into the habit of walking to the local store if you only need the odd thing or two. Try walking up a few flights of stairs every day and if you do need to go to the shops, park furthest from the entrance.

Its not a lot of exercise but once you get into the habit its easier to do more.

Start Your Day With A Healthy Breakfast

They Say that Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Not only does it get the metabolism going but also gives you the body and brain food you need to keep you going until lunchtime and your next nutritional intake.

A healthy breakfast doesn’t have to be big, but you should eat it. You can have whatever you want as long as it’s not too fatty or too sugar laden. Cereals are good, along with whole milk, and fruit is always a good idea to have with any healthy breakfast.

If you are planning to exercise before your next meal then this makes having a good breakfast even more essential.

Also if you are on a diet then a healthy breakfast is one of the most important things they can do. If you don’t eat breakfast, you are going to be more hungry than usual throughout the day and into the night. And that is when most of us start having a craving for a few munchies, which is probably the worst thing you can do.
